The medium-pressure metal halide ultraviolet lamp is composed of a quartz envelope containing mercury and metal halide pellets additives, which create ultraviolet light of a specific wavelength. The wavelength of the added metal halide will be strongly transferred to the visible light spectrum output, resulting in a longer wavelength for deeper curing process.
Metal halide lamps are widely used in the printing industry and various industrial applications, such as LCD, CD / DVD production, printed circuit boards, wood industry, etc.
TSTUV manufacture replication lamps for most existing medium-pressure UV lamps from 800 watts on the market.

Metal Halide Lamp

UV Lamp For Pcb Exposure

Exposure Lamp for PCB Market

Electrodeless bulbs, more commonly known as microwave lamps, are an extraordinary type of medium pressure mercury vapor lamp. The design concept is the mercury contained in the quartz sleeve is vaporized by irradiating the lamp with microwave energy (magnetron generator) rather than passing current between the electrodes. This offers few distinct advantages over the conventual electrode UV lamp:

Instant on/off capability

Smaller lamp design

Much longer lamp life (3~5 times a conventual electrode UV lamp)

More efficiency light output

Stronger intensity light at working surface

TSTUV supply microwave bulbs available in 6” (152.4 mm) and 10” (254 mm) lengths with power ratings of 300 & 600 WPI (watts per inch) which are made in the USA and are directly interchangeable with the electrodeless lamps made by OEM’s UV Systems Inc.
Metal Halide doping is used to change the spectral output of these lamps.

Electrodeless UV Lamp

6" H Type UV Electrodeless Lamp

6” H type Electrodeless UV Lamp

The “H” bulb is a medium pressure Mercury vapor bulb that produces a conventional Mercury spectral output, which includes light wavelengths distributed across the entire UV range. H bulbs are typically used in applications that cure efficiently with high intensity light in the UVC and UVA ranges.

6" H Type UV Electrodeless Lamp

10" H Type UV Electrodeless Lamp

10” H⁺ type Electrodeless UV Lamp

The “H⁺” bulb is a medium pressure Mercury vapor bulb that produces a range of light output from a conventional Mercury spectrum, which includes light wavelengths distributed across the entire UV range. The H+ bulb is very similar to the H bulb, except the H+ bulb produces about 10% more light in the UVC range, which is effective in achieving good surface cure properties.

10" H Type UV Electrodeless Lamp

D Type UV Electrodeless Lamp

D type Electrodeless UV Lamp

The “D” bulb is a medium pressure Mercury vapor bulb with a unique metal additive. When energized, the metal additive and Mercury vaporize into a plasma to produce a wide distribution range of UV light with most of its output in the UVA range. In fact, the output of the D bulb is about 2-3 times higher in the UVA range compared to the H bulb, which makes this bulb extremely effective when curing through heavily pigmented resins or thick layers of clear resins.
The “V” bulb is a medium pressure Mercury vapor bulb with a unique metal additive. When energized, the metal additive and Mercury vaporize into a plasma to produce a wide distribution range of UV light with most of its output in the UV-V range. The UV-V wavelength range is extremely effective when curing through the depths of pigmented resins, and particularly effective when curing white pigmented resins.

V Type UV Electrodeless Lamp

UV Capillary Exposure Lamp

UV Capillary Lamp
Technical Data

Quartz sleeves as water jacket (cooling tubes) for UV lamps can vary in size, diameter and configuration from system to system. Lamps are also manufactured utilizing different types of quartz to block or allow UV transmission in various spectral range.
Water Cooling tubes are mounted between the UV lamp and substrate in a UV curing system, to filter out infrared (IR) radiation and prevent the system and the substrate from overheating, whilst allowing the majority of UV radiation to pass through. They are kept cool with the addition of air or water being pumped through on a system that passes through a chiller.

Cooling tubes are various different sizes depending on the size and manufacturer of the system, and GCTC provide you with a wide range of lengths and diameters of cooling tube, manufactured to exact dimensions from high grade quartz.

GCTC keep the most in using quartz water jacket in stocks to offer the better service especially for PCB manufactured system which demanding customize dimensions and shapes to perfectly fitted into their systems.

GCTC’s aluminum and cold mirror reflectors are suitable for standard UV systems for which substrate to use is depending on the characteristics of the working piece; Cold-mirror reflectors are using for heat-sensitive materials as they absorb heat-producing infra-red energy and reflects only the UV energy.

Aluminum Curved Dichroic Coating UV Reflector

Quartz Curved Dichroic Coating UV Reflector

UV Curved Quartz Dichroic Reflectors

UV cold mirrors reflect UV energy while removing heat-producing visible and infrared energy. The removal of visible and infrared energy can be accomplished by transmitting the visible and infrared energy through the reflecting optic (typically fused silica) or by absorbing the visible and infrared energy and transferring the absorbed heat to the reflecting optic (typically aluminum). UV cold mirrors are extremely effective at increasing the amount of reflected UV energy at the irradiation zone while simultaneously significantly reducing the visible and infrared energy. The result is lower temperatures at the irradiation zone, allowing the processing of temperature sensitive substrates.

Cold mirrors are useful in protecting temperature sensitive substrates. Uses include

Photo polymerization of inks, dyes and adhesives

Semiconductor manufacture

Printed circuit board manufacture

Dichroic film coating glass reflector
Spectral characteristics:
Reflecting avg. ≧92% for spectrum range at 220~400Nm
Transmission avg. ≧ 80% for spectrum range at 450~2000Nm
The reflectors we produce help reflect the ultraviolet curing energy and pass infrared wavelengths. This is achieved by reflecting visible light. Less infrared radiation means less heating of the illuminated object in the beam. Dichroic reflectors are used in compatible lamps to help the system dissipate heat and thereby extend the life of the lamp.

Quartz Plate

UV Cold And Hot Mirror

Hot Mirror/Quartz Plate
GCTC’s hot and cold mirrors are ideal for use in situations where heat could severely damage an experimental setup. The dichroic coating glass mirrors are available in various sizes. Our UV fused silica mirrors offer increased transmission and reflectance, a lower coefficient of thermal expansion.
The quartz plate is generally place between the lamp and the substrate. The plate does not absorb UV rays but enhance in reradiating the rays at a temperature lower than the working lamp. It is necessary to clean the plate regularly for better performance of the curing results. GCTC provide the products of the top-most quality.
A normal glass plate cannot withstand extreme temperatures as much as a quartz plate does. UV lamp helps in drying inks and graphic coatings. The main use of a quartz plate in the lamp is to prevent the accumulation of debris, dirt and contaminants from building in the filter.
The UV hot mirror is primarily placed to reduce the effect of infrared rays (IR) that may have an effect over the printing clarity. Along with dichroic reflectors, the hot mirrors improve UV energy and reduce infra-red energy that can cause a likely damage to certain substrates that are heat sensitive. By directing the IR energy to the filament, the hot mirror helps by giving you a better printing experience by providing you a reliable way of removing heat.
The replacement lamp is used to dry coatings and inks in signs and graphics and is an important component of the drying system. The UV curing lamp is a better option than infra-red drying as it resists smudges. The quartz plate protects lamps from debris and works as a filter between lamp and the curing system. The plate prevents dirt, grit and contaminants from building up.

UV Cold And Hot Mirror

Electronic UV Lamp Power Supply

Electric Power Supply

Electronic power supplies are used to provide a constant power to a UV system, independent of any fluctuation in the mains voltage. This provides protection to the UV lamps from power surges and ensures a consistent curing performance. Electronic power supplies provide reliable ignition to a range of lamp sizes and types.
An electronic power supply carries out the same function as traditional transformer or choke based power supplies, whilst generally being more power efficient, smaller in size and significantly lighter. They also provide an infinitely variable level of lamp power, as opposed to an incremental one, and can be easily incorporated into analogue or digital control systems.
The benefits of GCTC’s Lamp Driver’s reliability, high efficiency, and high power Factor, in combination with step-less dimming.
The wide input voltage range and constant power regulation of GCTC’s lamp driver in combination with the integrated communication intelligence will assure you the optimal UV output during lamp life.
Extensive field experience with a large number of GCTC’s Lamp Drivers with Medium Pressure lamps have demonstrated and proven high product reliability and increasing lamp life.

Electronic UV Lamp Power Supply

UV Integrator

UV Meter

The visible light is only a small part of the electromagnetic radiation, the short-wave still visible light appears to us to be violet. When the wave-lengths are even shorter then we cannot see the radiation anymore, we are then within the range of the ultraviolet radiation approx. 254-380Nm. There are different UV rays: UV-A 318-380Nm UV-B 280-315Nm UV-C 254-280Nm
UV-Integrator I is intended for measuring the UV capacity of exposure installations. A measuring head is located at the area of the unit records UV emission in the spectrum range between 250~410Nm. The measurement can be ready directly on the LCD in mJ/cm², the I type is operated with a 3.6V lithium battery located inside the unit. By using special energy-saving circuits the battery will last for approx. 10000 hours and special filter glasses absorb the visible as well as the infrared range of emission s that measuring is only done in the spectral range required.

Most belts are made from electrical, premium or standard grade fabrics, especially where fabric weave impression is undesirable or where sticky or gummy materials are being conveyed. Industrial and mechanical grade PTFE coated conveyor belts are preferred where economy is more important than maximum resistance to chemicals or solvents. Crease and tear resistant PTFE coated conveyor belts are suggested for higher speeds such as for packaging belts.
Closed weave porous belts and open mesh PTFE belts are specified for applications where porosity is required as in drying applications (e.g. textile dryer belts) or microwave cooking ovens. Our anti-static range is used where static build up may occur such as in fuse press applications.
GCTC is the market leader in Teflon conveyor belts, which are suitable for use in various ovens and curing equipment. Our company uses the professional equipment built by our own engineering team to custom design and produce all our belts.
The main material type used in these styles of conveyor belts is PTFE-coated open mesh. The mesh size ranges from 1mm to 5mm openings, of which 4mm is our most common. We can specify the standard brown or antistatic black type, depending on the type of dryer they are installed.
We produce belts with a maximum width of 5000mm in a mesh size of 4mm, which allows us to provide belts for most machine width conveyors on the market today.
We have installed many types of fasteners for conveyor-specific belts, including helical metal and soft materials, as well as Kevlar shaped bull nose rings. Both designs can achieve a strong joint and have maximum airflow, thereby maximizing the dryness of the entire belt surface.
Our Teflon conveyor belt can run in an environment of 260 ° C, and can use UV, IR and hot-air drying methods as the heat source.
We can provide a variety of different belt guide anti-overflow practice options, which can be installed on the edge of the belt to help constant belt positioning in the dryer. These anti-pass devices and practices are related to cost and usage, and can be specified in the design stage.

Teflon Mesh Belt

PTFE Mesh Conveyor Belt

Textile Garment Manufacture
The fabric ends are cut in a finger pattern, matched together, then hot pressed. With this kind of joint, the weld length is decisive for the tensile strength. The joint part is quite flat, and it has a good result in the transporting article that require a flat joint. Application industries including apparel fusion machines, food conveyors (ex. egg crust, Mexican crust pre-cooking automation equipment), electronic parts, etc.

Skived Finger Joint PTFE Conveyor Belt

Skived Joint PTFE Conveyor Belt

Joining methods for Teflon Conveyor belts & power transmission belts

The ends of the fabric are skived to a wedge shape, one end of the belt from the top, the other from the underside, and bonded together using PFA film, heat and pressure. This is a very strong welding method, and offer a very smooth transition for the product to run on the machine.

Skived Joint PTFE Conveyor Belt

Mechaical Fastener Conveyor Belt

Joining methods for Teflon Conveyor belts & power transmission belts

Mechanical fasteners join or fasten two objects together mechanically. They are used in places where conveyor belts must be changed regularly or for applications where the belt needs to be replaced quickly. However, the mechanical fastener is a vulnerable part of the belt and may have openings where dirt can enter, so this is not a preferred solution for many applications.

Mechaical Fastener Conveyor Belt

Sliced Fabric Overlap Joint Conveyor Belt

Joining methods for Teflon Conveyor belts & power transmission belts

Butt joint is made by placing the two ends of a belt together and applying a certain wide piece of material underneath. This is then welded together ensuring the top surface is neat. Butt Belt Joints tend to be manufactured prior to fitting on the machine and are manufactured using a strap on the underside to offer additional strength. This method is a simple but very effective on making a belt endless at customer’s site. In the meantime, it can be an idea for machine isn’t easy to unassembled for belt replacement.

Sliced Fabric Overlap Joint Conveyor Belt

Plastic Spiral Peek Fastener For Mesh Conveyor Belt

Joining methods for Teflon Conveyor belts & power transmission belts

Overlap Belt Joints – Overlap joints are a simple and easy joint to use where having an even surface is not critical. Overlap splices are the most popular type used in the industry and can be enhanced with molding for food processing applications. Overlap ranges from 25 mm to 140mm, with directional belt angles of 30, 45, 60, and 90 degrees. This type of joint can easy be made on a machine where the belt needs to be fitted onsite.

Overlap Joint of PTFE Coated Glass Fabric Conveyor Belt

Finger Cut Joint of PTFE Conveyor Belt

Joining methods for Teflon Conveyor belts & power transmission belts

We recommend the overlapped finger joint. As in this case, the ends to be joined are split into layers. Next, fingers are punched into the ends, which are then tacked together and welded under pressure and heat into an endless belt.
Again, the double-layer fabric is applied from the beginning to the end, using high temperature and pressure, so the tensile strength of the belt will be improved and it is especially suitable for conveyors with small wheel diameters, such as continuous sealing machinery and toilet paper packaging machinery.

GCTC provide most of kinds of processing solutions to strengthen the edge of the conveyor belt, mainly to provide the anti-resistance feature and service life time of the belt. The most common way is to use a Teflon film to cover the edge for 1- inch width, and then place under the laminating machine with high temperature and pressure to cover the edge perfectly. Alternative way is using a piece of glass Fiber fabrics sewing onto the edges. To prevent direction shift t you can choose Kevlar or silicone rope to form the guide rope and sew it at a distance of 1/2" from the edge. This is a customized option. The following pictures and abbreviations are available for your reference.
GCTC supply silicone coated fabrics exhibit very similar properties to PTFE fluorocarbon resin and PTFE coated fabrics:

Excellent Release properties up to 230°C

Silicone coated surfaces exhibit excellent release characteristics and will release adhesive and viscous materials which often adhere to a PTFE fluorocarbon resin.

Good Chemical Resistance

Silicone coated fabrics exhibit high resistance to attack from mild alkali, non-oxidizing acids, most salts, mineral lubricating oil, air, moisture and sunlight.

Superior Abrasion Resistance and Flex

Silicone coated fabrics offer a tough coated surface with high abrasion and flex resistance. Silicone coated fabrics, however do not exhibit the low friction surfaces or self- lubricating properties of fluorocarbon resins.

Super Dielectric Properties

Silicone coated fabrics are excellent electrical insulators in tough environments.
